Podcast:  A Cancer Doctor's Story of Survival

Dr. Robert Stuart, a Hematology Oncologist at the Medical University of South Carolina, tells his story of surviving Kidney Cancer more than 16 years ago in this cancer podcast.  In 1991, he was one of the first patients to undergo a Partial Nephrectomy.  Dr. Stuart’s wife was also diagnosed with Cancer and has now been free of disease for over 6 years.  He has also inspired thousands by cycling across America to raise awareness for Clinical Trials.

One good Samaritan determined to donate a Kidney to anyone who needed it set off a chain reaction that let four patients without a compatible organ donor get transplants.  The four-way Kidney swap at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University is believed to be the largest ever performed in the City.  The all-day endeavor involved nearly 50 clinicians working in eight operating rooms.
