RCC Patient Survival Rates by Tumor Stage
The importance of early diagnosis of Renal Cell Carcinoma can hardly be understated, preferably prior to the onset of symptoms. The American Cancer Society quantified this importance in 2011, showing a 5-year patient survival rate of a paltry 8% when a patient presents with Stage IV RCC. Sun, et. al., confirmed this analysis showing a 5-year patient survival rate of only 11.8% if the Tumor has already metastasized distantly at time of diagnosis.
